To obtain your Texas License to Carry, you will need to pay the following fees in addition to the $75.00 cost of the class offered by Ellington Arms.
You will need to schedule an appointment to have your fingerprints taken at an authorized Fingerprint Applicant Services of Texas (FAST) location. The cost for fingerprinting is approximately $10.00. You will be directed to the IdentoGO website to schedule your fingerprints immediately following the completion of your application with the State of Texas.
The State of Texas charges an application fee according to the following schedule:
Active Military
Individuals currently serving in the military OR who were honorably discharged within the last 365 days.

Individuals who are serving as judges or justices of the supreme court, the court of criminal appeals, a court of appeals, a district court, a criminal district court, a constitutional county court, a statutory county court, a justice court, or a municipal court; or a federal judge who is resident of Texas; or persons appointed and serving as associate judges.
Retired Judicial Officer
Individuals who were serving as judges or justices of the supreme court, the court of criminal appeals, a court of appeals, a district court, a criminal district court, a constitutional county court, a statutory county court, a justice court, or a municipal court; or a federal judge who is resident of Texas; or persons appointed and serving as associate judges.
Active TX Peace Officer/Correctional Officer (TDCJ)/Supervision or Juvenile Probation Officer/Active Texas Military Member
Licensed peace officers under Chapter 1701, Occupations Code, and are employed as a peace officer by a Texas law enforcement agency; or Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) Correctional Officer; or a Texas Supervision or Juvenile Probation officer; or an Active Texas Military Member
Honorably Retired Texas Peace Officer
Individuals who were licensed as peace officers under Chapter 1701, Occupations Code, and who had been employed full‐time or a reserve peace officer by a Texas law enforcement agency.
25.00Retired Federal Officer
Individuals who are retired Officers of the United States who were eligible to carry a firearm in the discharge of the officer's official duties.
25.00Indigent
Individuals who fall below the poverty threshold as set forth by the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
40.00Felony Prosecuting Attorney
Individuals who are elected attorneys representing the state in the prosecution of felony cases who meet the requirements.
